Windows has failed everyone.

I am writing this post after last night's kerfuffle, just another day of trying to help Windows home users. I happen to be writing this while installing ProSeries on a new computer for one of my clients, which somehow has an installation process that is even worse than Adobe. Thanks Intuit, good job.

The timeline as I sent to my friend last night:

ChatGPT not loading. Turned into the internet…

Techreccs - update episode 5000000: the New Emojis

Techreccs now has emojis. I was inspired to figure out how to do this by Kev. I thought it would be hard with Ghost, but it turns out you can Windows Key+Period it (Standard Emoji Picker). Feel free to suggest better ones for the different groups if you have any.

Another day another Adobe bug (YAAB)

Like almost any other day, I sat down with my coffee and opened Lightroom. I started importing a new project and went to edit. Well, I switched into the develop module. I was going to edit and the photo wasn't showing, and neither were the sliders. So after some basic troubleshooting, I finally gave up and opened up Photoshop to work on something else. And lo and behold, the "this device isn't…

It's Just Broken: Oh WordPress

So you want to build a Snowman errr website.

You are like pretty techy, so even though you have heard a million ads for Squarespace or Wix from your favorite YouTuber or podcaster, you decide to go with WordPress. You tell yourself 30 percent of the web runs off WordPress so that is the correct choice.

So you start Googling and you see WordPress.com and WordPress.org. Well, as a techy,…

Too much personal stuff?

I started this blog in mid 2018 and kept it quite impersonal until mid 2024, and ramping up a lot last year.

I feel like I should be making separate sites or RSS feeds/categories for personal things and tech things. But honestly I have a very hard time separating a lot of posts into one or the other, as they tend to overlap.

Is this super important to you that I separate it or do you come here…

Its Up to you To Explain to Normies how "AI" is Making Everything more Expensive!

I see techies in the techie-sphere (Mastodon/Reddit/Podcasts/Youtube) constantly talking about the true cost of AI. Personally, I don't believe people care enough about the environment to actually make changes. I also don't believe people care about other people's work being stolen. Furthermore, the concept of the entire USA economy being built on essentially a Ponzi scheme, which will lead to a…

It's Just broken: Google Drive

I am introducing a new series called "It's Just Broken". It's as the name implies.
First up is Google Drive. I work as a photo editor and since a bunch of my clients can't follow simple instructions, like use my portal, to save you storage and me time. I have to interact with the complete pile cluster-fuck that is Google Drive from time to time.

The Good:

So for the positives, it doesn't…

Some good things from the past 6-12 months

Life has been really shit lately it started at the Jewish high holidays, and it has just repeatedly punched me down . I won't go over all the bad things in this post but it has been one of the hardest periods of my life. Yesterday something happened that really just destroyed me like the cherry on top. So today I challenged myself today to find a few good things that have happened or that I have…

Maul makes me feel like a kid again (Spoiler Free)

Unfortunately due to trauma, most of my childhood is currently just a blank space in my head. One thing that stands out though, though it's probably more my early teenage years, is the Star Wars: The Clone Wars, especially the Ahsoka, Anakin character arc.She was the first character on a TV show or movie that I actually felt true raw emotion for. I cried for her and felt angry for Anakin.

The…

Life Update 5/09/26

Written entirely on my phone, please excuse typos. This story is not for the faint of heart. This is not even getting involved in my stupid insurance issues which was my fault, though I did try many times to get fixed.... This is the more public version of this so I apologize to those involved if I missed details .

I had a team of friends with me that worked their butts off, but since this is…
