The spike shaft has a lower (3) and an upper (2) part which form the tip of spike when it is inserted into a base. The two parts are separated by a girdle (4) and the upper part has a flat surface (5) which is parallel to it and connected to it by facets (7). An independent claim is included for a spike for car tires or shoe soles whose tip is formed by an upper section as described above.
