The afterburner (9) has an afterburner-catalyzer, which consists of two afterburner-catalyzer stages (12,8). The former afterburner-catalyzer stage serves the combustion of hydrogen and carbon monoxide and the latter afterburner-catalyzer stage serves the combustion of hydrocarbons from the fuel cell-residual gas.
