The method also includes, in response to receiving the indication of the fault condition, (i) controlling a first power converter that is configured to transfer power between the first winding set and an electrical bus to enter a standby mode, (ii) controlling a mechanical disconnect to disconnect an engine from the electric machine, and (iii) after the mechanical disconnect disconnects the engine from the electric machine, controlling a second power converter that is configured to transfer power between the second winding set and the electrical bus to apply a negative Q-current to the second winding set.",
