Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example scanning, by a processing system including a processor arranged in a steering wheel, identification information of a user and information of a vehicle associated with the user using a first group of sensors integrated with or arranged proximate to the steering wheel, verifying, by the processing system, the identification information of the user and the vehicle associated with the user, upon the verification, registering and storing, by the processing system, the verified identification information in a data storage of the steering wheel, and outputting, by the processing system, the verified identification information on a user interface arranged in connection with the steering wheel of the vehicle.
