Provided is a tread for a pneumatic tyre with which water column resonance is reduced, drainage performance is maintained, and the flexible fences are worn to the same extent as the tread part. A tread 1 for a pneumatic tyre of the present invention is a tread that is formed by a rubber composition and that has a tread part 2 in which a main groove 3 is formed and multiple flexible fences 4 formed inside the main groove. The flexible fences are formed by at least a rubber composition for fences that is different from the rubber composition of the tread part. The rubber composition for fences comprises a filler composition the base of which is (a) diene elastomer, (b) 30 phr or more of a non-black reinforcing filler and less than 3 phr of carbon black as optional component, and (c) organic photo-oxidation catalyst.
