The invention relates to a center console for a motor vehicle, with a floor, a front wall and a rear wall. In order to improve the known center console with regard to cost and installation effort, it is provided according to the invention that an opening (5) is provided in the front wall (3) and in the rear wall (4) respectively in the area close to the floor, which is connectable with an air duct, and that a closure element (9), which closes the openings (5), can be inserted into the center console (1).
