The invention relates to a lever hand switch (1) for controlling the electromotive adjustment of a seating or reclining piece of furniture, wherein the lever hand switch (1) has a housing (2) in which various switches with switching contacts for actuating the electrical drives of the seating or reclining piece of furniture are arranged, which are switchable by means of a hand lever (9) protruding from the housing (2) by moving the hand lever (9) in a forward direction or in a backward direction and which adjust the seating or reclining piece of furniture, wherein the lever hand switch (1) is connected or connectable by means of a current-carrying cable (10) to the electrical drives and/or a power source, wherein in each actuation direction of the hand lever (9) at least two successive switches (3, 4 or 5, 6) with switching contacts (7, 8 or 12, 13) are arranged in the housing (2), each of which controls an electrical drive.
