METHOD FOR CONTROLLING A HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY FOR A VEHICLE AND SUCH A HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY

The invention relates to a method for controlling a headlight arrangement for a vehicle (10), wherein the headlight arrangement comprises a right headlight (1) and a left headlight (2), wherein the right headlight (1) emits a right light beam (30b) and the left headlight (2) emits a left light beam (30a), by means of which a first overall light distribution (30) can be generated, in which a central area (M) is formed and side areas (S1, S2) are formed on both sides adjacent to this central area (M), wherein the side areas (S1, S2) have a greater illumination range than the central area (M). In the method according to the invention, an initial light distribution (29) is generated by means of the left (30a) and the right light beam (30b). At least one object (37) is detected in the direction of travel in front of the vehicle (10), wherein the position of the object (37) is determined. Once the position of the object (37) has been determined, a second overall light distribution (31) is generated, in which the side areas (S1, S2) of the first overall light distribution (30) are at least partially superimposed at the position of the object (37), so that a superimposed area (36) is formed, in which the light intensity is composed of the light intensity of the left (30a) and the right light beam (30b). Furthermore, the invention relates to a headlight arrangement.
