INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE WITH AGR COOLER

The invention relates to an internal combustion engine with a combustion chamber and an exhaust system into which exhaust gas (10) leaving the combustion chamber can be introduced and which has an exhaust gas recirculation by means of which the exhaust gas (10) can be at least partially recirculated into an intake air supply (5) for supplying the combustion chamber with intake air (12), wherein a heat exchanger unit (9) is provided in the exhaust gas recirculation with which heat energy can be extracted from the exhaust gas (10), wherein the intake air (11) taken from the surroundings is compressed and the compressed intake air (11) can be conducted through the heat exchanger unit (9) provided in the exhaust gas recirculation, wherein the compressor unit (7) upstream of the heat exchanger unit (9) through which intake air (12) flows is integrated into the intake system for supplying the internal combustion engine with combustion air (12). According to the invention, a control valve is provided which divides the compressed intake air flow into a first and a second intake partial air flow, wherein of these compressed partial flows, depending on the operating state, the one partial flow (11) is supplied to the heat exchanger unit (9) provided in the exhaust gas recirculation, while the second intake air partial flow is introduced into the combustion air supply of the internal combustion engine.
