Anantnag Police have conducted a mock drill at the Jablipora landing strip to enhance security and emergency response for the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026. The exercise simulated various contingency situations to test operational preparedness and coordination among police personnel.
Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat led a review of security measures for the annual Amarnath Yatra, emphasizing heightened vigil, technological integration, and robust coordination. Preparations for Muharram and Mela Kheer Bhawani were also discussed.
SSP Ganderbal Sudhanshu Dhama inspected the Baltal base camp, reviewing security, logistics, and coordination for the upcoming Amarnath Yatra. Efforts are underway to ensure a safe and hassle-free pilgrimage.
Amarnath Yatra dates announced
The annual pilgrimage to the holy cave shrine of Amarnath in south Kashmir will commence on July 3 and conclude on August 28, spanning 57 days. Registration will open on April 15 for pilgrims aged 13 to 70.
