W Social är ett socialt medium som använder sig av AT-protokollet. Sajten ägs av det svenska företaget W Social AB och för att få ett konto måste användarna legtimera sig med ett godkänt ID.

European public institutions are betting big on digital sovereignty and open source software. And yet they recently moved their Bluesky accounts to W Social, a private, for profit network owned by Swedish entrepreneurs that has quietly gone closed-source.

De flesta europeiska användare i ATmosphere finns på Blueskys PDS:er i USA. Det finns dock ett par mycket omskrivna europeiska satsningar på att bygga upp PDS:er för AT-protokollet. Dessa använder dock Blueskys servrar för all annan funktionalitet (relä, verifiering med mera) så i praktiken är även de europeiska PDS:erna helt beroende av US-amerikanska servrar.
