The joke at the moment across the Western democracies is that you’re often seeing coalitions in all but name via the so-called “uni-party” where parties simply exchange power but maintain the same overall policies. People have had a gutsful of their votes changing nothing in their lives.

Accepting, for argument’s sake, that these things are true, then his logic isn’t unreasonable and he comes across as sane while discussing the security failures that allowed him to get as far as he did. It is not the ranting of a lunatic or a person suffering from any of the common mental issues.

What gets me is that the $495 is what you pay on top of your basic ticket price: it’s only for a four-hour period in The Pod and, as you can see, it’s a bunk-bed setup.

My personal perspective on all this is much darker than Damien Grant’s. We have consistently failed to meet the challenges of the future over the last 25 years and each decade (or even half-decade) has felt more constrained, stressful and gloomy than the one before it.
