As fallout continues from a dismissed federal prosecution of six people protesting ICE actions last year, the U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois announced "sweeping reforms to internal grand jury practices and disclosures" Wednesday.

U.S. District Judge April Perry said last week the actions from prosecutors in the case could lead to sanctions for misconduct and ethical violations.

Mayor Thompson sent a letter to federal lawmakers representing Illinois to call for support for the reimbursement and for support in permanently closing the Broadview ICE facility.

The woman's family said federal agents told them that she was not in custody despite her phone location previously showing her at the Broadview facility.
