This night was a good night for boot-blacking, despite my own weariness. Its been a week of me not getting enough sleep and it really caught up with me being out late at Hunter. As such I left a little earlier than normal after my shift on the Chair finished.
Well this was a Very fun night. I got to work on some new an interesting boots worn by a regular, I got to talk through the process with someone who was clearly very interested in the process of producing a good shine. And I got to do a full body gear moisturizing/massage to one of my favorite regulars @bearlthr.com!
So I realized I have not Posted any of the amazing people Ive had in my chair from the Winter Hunter nights. Its Felt like a long winter, and a very exhausting January but with plenty of good memories. So please enjoy this Photodump.

This hunter was a fun one. I didn’t see a lot of regular faces. A lot of people were either away on trips of just not wanting to come out in the heat. My chair however saw a lot of new faces/boots and i got to do more than a few peoples first time in a bootblacks chair. I also got to do a first of my own: I got to do a conditioning of a puppies leather hood.
This was a very special night. I was able to have a trainee Who I have been mentoring shadow me as I worked and showed him how to bootblack. I also did his brand new pair of boots, talking him through the process as I went.

Treating mould on leather can be tough if you don’t catch it early enough. Unfortunately, one of my own shirts had succumbed to it. It’s been a little too small for me the past year, so it’s sat in storage and unfortunately damp got in. I tried an initial clean, hoping it hadn’t penetrated the surface. This hunter was really fun. i got to see a few new faces and had a lot of boots pressed into my chest and crotch! I also got to oil condition someone’s very tight and stiff leather jock! I did have an experiment of shining rubber with an electric buffer, but found my little handheld was underpowered and too small.
