Tonight had a theme of firsts. For starters, I got to work on my first ever pair of pony play boots. They were a lovely piece of kit and I was overjoyed to be working on something unique. This was a fin shift. I worked pretty solidly from 4pm to 8pm and it just flew buy. There is a refrain amongst a lot of bootblack titleholders that bootblacks are the story keepers of the leather community, and I really felt that this shift. So many of these people told me many interesting stories about their boots and gear, and we got to share conversations about their lives and interests.
So I have taken a bit of a break from bootblacking in the last 2 months. I find this is helpful to do from time to time. It is a lot of work and because I do it mostly at social events, and It’s nice to be able to actually go to just socialize for a while. So it’s February and I had fun doing not just boots but also trainers.
